In the wake of the Charleston, SC shooting the country grapples with race, gun rights, and the Confederate Flag. Some news outlets have called the June 17th shooting a hate crime and terrorism, while others simply call it a mass shooting. National debate about racial tension in the Unites States and easy access gun laws continues as people discuss what it means to continue flying the Confederate flag. Some, such as the Charleston NAACP President, view the Confederate flag as a symbol that breeds racism and hatred in young people like Dylann Roof, calling the shooting an act of “racial terrorism”.
